I feel so incredibly lucky to have had Teena by my side as my private midwife.
After a challenging first birth in the depth of Covid and what felt like many layers of intervention that ultimately led me to a caesarean birth I knew from that moment onwards if I was lucky enough to have another baby I wanted to do it differently.
I wanted continuity of care, understanding, someone extremely knowledgeable and mostly someone I could trust to embark on this journey with me.
After finding out I was pregnant with my second son I dove deep into research about VBACs and was recommended I contact Teena from many women on a VBAC Facebook forum.
From the moment I met Teena she made me feel comfortable, capable, and excited to not only meet my baby but to birth him. We had thorough prenatal appointments in the comfort of her home, she lent me numerous books, recommended several podcasts, checked on babies heartbeat and we got lost in conversations about any queries I had and I always left feeling like I had learnt so much more about the birth world.
I was so fortunate to birth him just how I hoped for, in the water with no interventions. Teena was an amazing support and I’m forever grateful. I look back on that day with such strength, pride and happiness and i owe so much of that to her.
